Designed as a distributed system, the CAMS performs Multi Sensor Data Fusion (MSDF) and integrates all MWS data with other external surveillance systems and operational systems (PSR/SSR, Flight Plan Data, etc.) into one integrated traffic picture, delivering full and accurate situational awareness to the air traffic controller. The CAMS non cooperative surveillance capability, enables the airport to gain a complete Runway Safety Net, with no dependency on aircraft onboard equipment.
